Diploma program

Dental Assisting is a great career choice for someone who enjoys a personal interaction with patients.  As a dental assistant you will use your technical skills along with your caring personality to help patients to feel comfortable while receiving their dental treatment.   Dental Assistants perform a wide range of activities and are a vital part in making any dental office successful. 

The Diploma Program at the Academy of Dental Assisting is designed to help you be successful in a wide variety of dental assisting professions.  You may find yourself working in a general dentist office doing a variety of procedures or in a specialist’s office such as an orthodontist or endodontist where your skills are focused on one area.  And don’t forget the business office.  The Diploma Program will prepare you for a wide variety of jobs including—Business Assistant, Patient Care Coordinator, or Office Manager.

Upon Successful completion of this comprehensive program at the Academy of Dental Assisting you will be awarded a Diploma in Dental Assisting. 

Areas of study include:

  • Clinical dental assisting -utilizing actual dental operatories in each clinical classroom
  • Dental business office training – taught by a practice manager utilizing dental software
  • CPR- certification by the American Heart Association for healthcare providers
  • Kentucky Certification in Radiology Safety and Technique – Indiana approved radiology program
  • Practice management- advanced business office training for those pursuing management positions
  • Expanded Duties Dental Assisting (EDDA) – taught onsite utilizing real dental equipment
  • Dental specialties- will prepare you to work for a variety of dental specialist. 
  • Professional development – to get you job ready!
  • 300 externship hours in an actual dental office
