Dental Assisting is a great career choice for someone who enjoys a personal interaction with patients. As a dental assistant you will use your technical skills along with your caring personality to help patients to feel comfortable while receiving their dental treatment. The Diploma Program at the Academy of Dental Assisting is designed to help you be successful in a wide variety of dental assisting professions. You may find yourself working in a general dentist office doing a variety of procedures or in a specialist’s office such as an orthodontist or endodontist where your skills are focused on one area. And don’t forget the business office. The Diploma Program will prepare you for a wide variety of jobs including—Business Assistant, Patient Care Coordinator, or Office Manager.
Upon Successful completion of this comprehensive program at the Academy of Dental Assisting you will be awarded a Diploma in Dental Assisting.
Areas of study include:
- Clinical dental assisting -utilizing actual dental operatories in each clinical classroom
- Dental business office training – taught by a practice manager utilizing dental software
- CPR- certification by the American Heart Association for healthcare providers
- Kentucky Certification in Radiology Safety and Technique – Indiana approved radiology program
- Practice management- advanced business office training for those pursuing management positions
- Expanded Duties Dental Assisting (EDDA) – taught onsite utilizing real dental equipment
- Dental specialties- will prepare you to work for a variety of dental specialist.
- Professional development – to get you job ready!
- 300 externship hours in an actual dental office
