Basic Dental Assisting Program:
Overview:
An 8-week training course, providing 48 hours of classroom instruction on the necessary techniques, such as taking X-rays. The course also includes a 40-hour externship in a working dental office.Certificates:
-"Basic Dental Assisting" from the Academy of Dental Assisting-"Radiation Safety & Radiation Technique" for the State of Kentucky
Students from Indiana will also need to take the radiation section of the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) at Pearson Professional Center or Alumni Office Park detailed below. The Alumni Office Park is also the site where Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) exams may be taken. This is available after completion of the course & 3400 hours of experience.
